"Where the Eagle Meets the Condor"

~~~ Shuk-Ka "Soaring Hawk" Fernandez ~~~
"Down through time, the wisdom of Nature is anchored in spirituality itself"
A member of the Ohlone/Costanoan and Esselen Nation, Shuk-Ka, born in Monterey County in 1954, is one of only 66 living descendants of the Esselen Indians of Sargenta-Ruc (Big Sur)
Called by some a visionary and a spiritual advisor, Shuk-Ka has learned from his elders, peers, and sages of both the Lakota Souix and Hopi tribes. He studied under Cal Poly professor Robert Hoover, Ph.D. Anthropology/Archaeology at the Mission San Antonio De Pudua in Jolon. He is well read in the teachings of Black Elk, Eagle Man, and Lame Deer, to name a few native american spiritual journeymen.
An indigenous human being of Sargenta-Ruc, Shuk-Ka "I remain aloft" is a stringent advocate of the preservation of the sacred lands of the Big Sur/Carmelo coastlines.
