"Where the Eagle Meets the Condor"

~~~ Mary Ann Chioino Kline ~~~
A Chumash Native American, Mary Ann Kline is helping local tribes through her role in city government and in so many other ways. Mary Ann is a soft spoken, strong and determined woman.
Evidence of that strength and determination is the fact that with eight of her brothers working on the construction of the Monterey Bay Aquarium and she as a secretary on the project, she decided to learn two construction terms or techniques a day. One year later, she left the office for the job site. This was way before doors started opening for women into jobs and professions traditionally held only by men. Mary Ann proved herself, rose through the ranks, and was recognized and honored by the Union.
The history of her family, her work in the community and in her culture, is important and very interesting. We enjoyed speaking with her, and found in Mary Ann, a warm and delightful woman, and a special friend. Sand City, City Hall number: 831-394-3054
