"Wake Up, an Invitation to Spirituality" After Arriving at San Francisco for work, Jonas' first night in his hotel room became incredibly strange and shocking... he suddenly had the ability to hear and see the unseen, spirits, clouds of energy, geometric patterns coming out of the wall, all kinds of things that were beautiful and terrifying, with no idea what was happening. A long and sometimes extremely challenging 4 year journey began as Jonas documented his search for answers. In the film are wonderful experts in medicine, science, and spirituality, "it was really important to show the hard science in this film" ...and he found he was not alone. He describes how it felt as all his belief systems were shattered, how his family and girlfriend Mara reacted, his first year of ego and moving through that, "...the universe has a funny way of working things out." How did growing up in Christianity go with what happened to him? "Oh, it was quite a train wreck as one can imagine!" He likes a Gandhi quote that Mara recently found: "I like your Christ but I don't like your Christians." Jonas had pushed hard for answers in religion for years and sometime after he let that go the phenomena happened which he doesn't think is a coincidence. "If you think the world is flat and you realize it's round that's going to be a painful transition." Such as some rage an anger for what he learned as a child about God and the universe, from that he learned how to re-educate himself. The film is excellent, Jonas is honest and real, he says to sense his emotional mood... "just follow the haircut" some sides of him were not easy to show. He found JZ Knight and Ramtha's School amazing, experienced blindfolded archery --and his resistance. The film is a wonderful invitation to spirituality, science, self-exploration, and hope, "especially in these trying times--It's time to wake up." |
