~~~ Jared Chodowski "The Initiate" ~~~
"I am on this journey for a reason, I am grateful for what I have, and the school has allowed
me the foundation to build my dreams and the life I am now living into fruition. I don't know
everything yet but I am learning, and I am becoming more every day The Initiate."
Jared Chodowski is now producing and recording his own music in his home studio. Jared Performed at the Tacoma Dome for the MLK JR. 2007 celebration "I Have a Dream," an original piece he wrote and produced, and was the only artist quoted in the tacoma news tribune from that performance.
Jared grew up going to Ramtha's School of Enlightenment, from age 9-17, now 24, he attends periodically. Unhappy with the direction his life was headed, it all started with a desire to change. In his words... "While contemplating one day I realized that what I wanted was to be creative, although I had no idea what it was going to be. Writing was probably the last on my list, because I had never written anything besides papers for school. This was while I was getting my AA at South Puget Sound Community College. I have learned a lot, not only about myself but about life and the way that the universe works, through my journey thus far with my music. What I learned at RSE growing up is the foundation for my life. Contemplation has played a huge role for me it has been my daily discipline and my greatest teacher, and of course I learned about that at RSE. I have had experiences that have made the teachings become more than a philosophy, an undeniable truth. These experiences have taught me that we are truly unlimited, we can access any information, even music which became a huge part of my life."
"Every song has a story and some songs are stories. But I feel because most people aren't used to listening to rap, it's hard toListen to his music here find meaning amongst the rhymes, if you're not used to hearing it. I love to explain why I wrote what I wrote. It's actually one of my favorite parts of showing my music to people."
[yes it is... he patiently taught us, your BTO hosts]
Jared's talent, music, and the wisdom in his writing is beautiful, and he is a delight.
Here www.myspace.com/initiatemusic you can see a video of Jared's wonderful I Have A Dream performance from the MLK commemoration at the Tacoma Dome, Tacoma, Washington. His music is available there, and we encourage you to give a gift of this rap, to all the young ones you know. This is inspiration to offset the mind-deadening messages in rap now pushed on our youth, because they love the beat.
"The Journey"
His new CD, composed and designed for RSE disciplines, will be out soon! It took 6 months to make as Jared continues to evolve his music creatively and technically with real instrument sound recordings, his intent was to make this CD the best it can be, and it was a journey in itself! You can catch it on BTO music stream, "Energy Drums" "Spin Faster" and "Surrender" are some of the track names. The idea started when his mom asked him to make a subliminal CD with her "list" in it for focus, and she loved it! Since then he has made these CDs for others, "it's a recording of you doing your own list, it's very powerful, the observer is listening to your own thoughts voiced." As for "The Journey" there are no lyrics so you can make up your own story and go anywhere with it. "Mindscape" a song with a neighborhood shift and with "Grandeur" he could hear the string section in is head as if he had on loud headphones, "the music is getting easier to hear, like in the movie "August Rush", you just have to listen ...growing up in RSE, anything is possible."
Note: Jared has offered to make your "list" CD for $25, he wants to make it affordable for everyone.
"God's Soldiers"
His... 'lyrics of experience of his evolution' where he's a bit of a victim in one rap, then rises into a place of power in the next "you're not going to get me now! It forces me to see myself and where I am." What does "Initiate" mean to him? The tribulations, the courage on the path and never giving up. He explains his most controversial rap God's Soldiers' "...many don't know much about their own religions, so much dogma and twisting Jesus' story for gain and power... I have a problem with that." Most parents have no idea what their kids are listening to, rap songs can have up to 1,500 words being programmed with the beat into the brain and some 'bad rap' comes from an unlikely source such as Christians, huh? "It's like people putting out violent video games, they don't see anything wrong with it." After a piece from "God's Soldiers" he says "Science is even backing this up that the individual does have power. What do you really believe in? Learn about it. It's nice to understand about individual truth."
"The Initiate"
Music with a message comes from this young man's creative inspirations. As a teenager he really wanted to be creative and started making music, he was not limited by having no background in it, "when you are passionate enough about something it comes to you." Years before Ramtha had warned him that the music he listened to (rap) was bad for him, and he took that to heart. Now as a rapper himself, "I try to be as conscious as possible as I know I'm responsible for what I put out." You can hear his beautiful "I Have A Dream" performed at the MLK commemoration at the Tacoma Dome, and more, on BTO Live! He speaks about the famous rappers "Corporate Gangsters," a sad influence yet there is some interesting consciousness in the underground. Bowling helps him balance and be in that wonderful place with no thought when he writes "The more I do this the deeper I feel things" and then he raps a little of "Feel It," a culmination of experiences. Finally BTO happily adds Rap to its music stream repertoire!
