~~~ Elaine Prefontaine ~~~
Elaine Prefontaine, artist. Beautiful paintings --the faces of nature, on Purcell Mountain slate stone that to her is a living thing. Elaine grew up on the prairies of Saskatchewan, the slate comes from British Columbia where she now lives. She had never spoken to a person of color, not even the Native American Indians who lived only 30 miles away, we met her when she came to Ramtha's school. She had retired from her career in the oil business and made a business of her artwork on stone. She speaks of Kokopelli through her poetry, "...Kokopelli allows us to dream."
She knew about Ramtha in the 80's, and saw Linda Evans on Larry King speaking about her experiences at the school, but it wasn't until now that she ventured the drive to Washington state, a place she had never been before. She had found BTO and became a Warrior of Unlimited Mind supporting the station, it's the first time she had ever contributed to something outside of her realm. "How primitive can you be?" she says now in our studio. "How fabulous to have her here" we thought as so many other "hidden gems" out there will resonate with her story, great beings can emerge from out of the "woodwork" too!
"I knew about knowledge and truth and everything, but at the school you *learn* about it." At school she spoke to an African American person for the first time in her life, a wonderful woman from New York, in fact she met people from all over the world there and noticed that they didn't feel like strangers, but like a lot of new friends. "When I went to the school I thought I was pretty well read, when I listened to Ramtha and JZ I realized I knew nothing!" The teachings about the brain and how it works amazed her, all the cutting edge stuff.
And how was the drive from British Columbia to Yelm? "I didn't want to be on that big highway, I'm a country kid!" Once off the highway her car broke down with a loud crash bang, she had made it all the way when her car stopped right in front of RSE... Charlie, a food vendor at school, immediately helped her. Enjoy Elaine's paintings, photography, and poetry, on her website, another of her creations.
