~~~ Diane Brown ~~~
Diane Brown lives in a small town called Alexandra in the South Island of New Zealand. She has been a journalist for the past 30 years, working for radio, television newspapers and also as a public affairs officer for a large pulp and paper mill. She quit her job in January to spend some time studying and enjoying her time in Central Otago. Continuing to keep abreast of earth changes and how the people of New Zealand are dealing with them ...always a journalist, which is why she is our BTO NZ Correspondent! Having experienced a large earthquake twenty years ago while living in the North Island and the recent increase in quake and tsunami activity she is very aware of the necessity of being prepared.
Diane has been interested in exploring history, the human potential, mind and possibilities, as well as life here and now, which is obviously why she chose a journalistic career. Diane and Trevor studied Reiki which they both find very helpful. Then Ramtha was introduced to her life in the 1980's and she attended two beginning retreats in New Zealand. In 2004 she found RSE on the Internet, saw there was going to be an Australia weekend event and resumed her studies. "It is truly the quintessential school of the mind, it contains science, quantum physics, biology, neurology... nothing is missing and it certainly sharpens the brain!"
Diane has a family of five adult children and lots of little ones she loves spending time with. She is also "thinking" about writing a book on raising children, she sees some parents really struggling in today's society and maybe her knowledge could help a bit. It should... her children, who call her "Happy Bubble", are happy adults raising happy babies, and having magical experiences.
"The West Wing - Not!"
Well it's white in NZ and green in WA. The initiate moon as we learned it from Ramtha, its 28 day period in which passionate (not emotional) intent and focus can make new neurons stick. RSE teacher Jaime Leal-Anaya recently spoke, in his Spanish program, about this and connected times and events - connections your hosts had not made, so cool! Diane talks about the desire to have her family 'get it' that times are changing, the need to accept each one is here on their own journey, the difference the disciplines make, and about just being it and they will get it. As for NZ, the earth moves daily and a possible huge migration is happening, as the tourism people are trying to convince everyone it is safe. NZ Prime Minister John Key is making a visit to the USA to meet with Obama to discuss the US dollar and ask that the US not print more money... But first to visit the Time Warner set of the TV series "West Wing"... perhaps to dream how (optimistically) a president does his best to live his oath and morality exists (at least in the first seasons of the series by creator Aaron Sorkin, that your hosts enjoyed)? NZ's huge milk & sheep exports for big profit yet citizens don't see any wage raises to compensate for the high prices they too now pay. Realize that NZ is a very small country and yet produces very good food that are high in demand as farms are being folded into the big corporations. Diane notes things going on in parts of the US... your 7yr old can't sell lemonade, a vegetable garden is not allowed in your front yard, rain water isn't free, and it's now a crime to feed the hungry. Diane likes Clif High's idea of 'shunning' as the preferred way to protest, silent and peaceful yet sends a loud message. And just as everywhere else NZ is experiencing drastically different weather patterns, and what to do if you can't grow food outside.
"A 'Catch 22' in all Ways"
An update on Christchurch NZ, the city is falling apart. Diane's vivid description of the conditions there, nothing anyone would wish for another. Imagine your house floating on liquefaction, 5000 properties can never be built on again, relocation makes keeping jobs very difficult, earthquake insurance rises with aftershocks, volcanic ash from Chile affects airports, flights, and more. The Government is buying uninhabitable land to prevent banks from crashing. There is a 'Catch 22' at every turn, and the people are mentally exhausted, in houses with no electricity and falling apart. Very different weather patterns, land changes, and a freak lightning strike 'freaking' a whole household, huge thunder storms and tornadoes, the NZ online seismograph looks like the whole island is trying to break in half, and NASA solar flare warnings. Diane shares what she is doing and her dream is that school children have bug-out bags and be taught the basics, like why I do need a whistle? The only good thing is there are no Nuclear Plants in NZ, can you imagine that on top of all this? And of course Diane reminds us that attitude is everything, be focused and be in the moment and keep creating your future.
"Reality Sinking In..."
NZ is still shaking and traveling with quakes and after shocks, weird weather, "a rain bomb" and evacuations. Insurance gone sky high and some places can't even be insured. A huge ship sits off the coast of Christchurch exploring the ocean bottom for clues for better ways to re-build and when to do it. In mind Diane is in a safe place on solid rock though not far from a fault. This is where we can all learn from the experiences of others, the people in NZ are looking at everything, and doing things differently. Everything has a new place in homes and school students are building from discarded materials. Many new ideas on preparedness are spawning from this "new" environment. Much like Nature where a species survives by adapting to changes. Diane has never forgotten what Ramtha said years ago about being prepared, now truly seeing this is her reality. A worrisome volcano and huge caldera show some activity, lush forests way to wet may cause massive mud slides, NZ's news is the most open about things like what solar flares really mean. Shall we go looking for some caves! "We're making known the unknown, and with no fear!" Can *we* learn from this, can we adapt before it comes to us, before reality literally sinks in?
"When It Happens Again!"
New Zealandenders have their mind on this morning's Japan's 9.0 earthquake in spite of their own 6.4 quake on February 22nd which devastated Christchurch this time. And the possibility of tsunamis from Japan coming to NZ, Hawaii, and the US coast. Despite the destruction and creepy liquidation in NZ there are stories of people with great attitudes, such as her friend Jane, a nurse with young children. And there is a lot more talk about being prepared. "It's a huge learning curve, not to look at it emotionally but to be practical and detached." More very good advise from experience and stories of heroics saving people from the Christchurch rubble. Jane adds the spatula to the "Bug Out" bag, water there now is the new gold, and other tips on what to do. Diane describes the devastation, the magnitude is mind boggling, yet the spirit is exceptional, 18,000 students from all over NZ came to help. Lot's of people are cooperating with each other and sharing resources, neighborhood BBQs are now common, saves fuels and promotes friendship. Rich people went from fabulous luxury homes to living in a shed. NZ is on edge about the "super moon" coming soon. Great advise on making a plan of communication with family and friends that will not jam the phone lines during an event like this. What the kids are saying about this change in living. And the day and night search continues for bodies which is done with loving care and respect.
"What's Up in NZ, Mid Brain Magic, and Astrotometry"
A month since the big quake in Christchurch and still averaging up to 5 aftershocks per day, given their shallowness they feel like 5.0, what the experts are saying. The fallout of the damage is profound, yet great attitudes in the community abound, young people with big signs of "Free Hugs" spreading cheer. The loss of a 1/2 million lambs, the largest storm with 140km winds and the media encouraging preparedness. Then we have fun sharing our experiences of focusing on the cards, remote viewing the future of where you intend to go and little moments of magic everyone experiences that when noted increase and build confidence, (you can focus on cards & see the result on Jaime Leal-Anaya's Spanish page) What Diane does to get into mid brain, it's the passion to understand brain and mind, doing the disciplines--we talk about this because anyone can do it, is for everyone, and can make a great difference in your life! Diane says she's no expert but she's looking into the Sun, she recently found the sunspot cataclysm material on Clif's site, very intriguing subject. NASA sees something never seen before, a solar tsunami. And Astrotometry may emerge as a new science in observing coronal activity that effects Earth in specific places, and what happens when comets are absorbed by the Sun, she just loves learning! "Crikey! I'll just become a Quantum Physicist!"
"When the Unexpected Happens"
A vivid report of the effects of a 7.0+ earthquake, New Zealand's worst disaster in living memory. Fortunately that is in terms of property damage, with the quake happening at 4:30am, no deaths reported, miraculous. Much of South Island is built on swampland and sand, Christchurch, with a population of over 300,000 and numerous very old buildings, looks like a bombed city. To say the least everyone was shaken up big time, and continued to be with over 100 after shocks, imagine the nerves... As Diane describes the scene we can't help but think... am I prepared for this? Would you be prepared right now or are you waiting for Mother Nature to wake you up with less than you could have had at hand? Brick building facades dropped into the streets like melted butter, oil powered electric transformers blew up one by one and then there was no power, which means there is no water, sewer lines busted and you know what that means, now there is no drinkable water! Water, candles, precooked meals... disappeared very quickly from stores. An important tip on securing torches (flashlights), a new fault opened nearly 12 feet wide, but the main problem was with liquefaction of the ground. Soil turned to mush, houses on cement slabs sunk into the sand-mud enough to block doors, many homes were split in half, bicycles and wheelbarrows disappeared completely. Cool individual stories of a policeman, a woman and her son, and a married couple whose house was falling around them. Only two days after this interview the cost of the damage rose to four billion and the after shocks keep coming. This community has a "can do" attitude that goes back in history, they pulled together splendidly to deal with massive these problems. Regardless of your particular geological situation much can be learned from this by knowing how your area will fare with a 7.0+ earthquake and how your community will react!
"Gov Rules, UFOs, and Shape Shifting Islands?"
The differences and similarities between up and down under are indeed interesting and the common denominator is, things are not normal. The Aussie people are concerned about food, medicine, facial ID scans, and government rules. Their liberties long lost and the Kiwis think they are next, it's amazing what governments get away with. In NZ the water crises schemes are in the $millions, and little rodents are again a big problem. With an extremely intense winter and very abnormal temperatures, nature is reacting by flooding homes. The NZ media actually strongly advised getting 72hr food and water kits, and especially made attempts to convince young people to be self reliant, something we don't hear around here! There is an Empower Women NZ organization growing strong. A very positive report and possibly a sign of Gov disclosure coming soon on UFOs, there are lot's of sightings in NZ! Cell phone shopping has begun, the wave of the future, and cams that keep an eye on food. Perhaps the most abnormal thing are the shape shifting islands rising above sea level and getting bigger! Which must be some relief for the inhabitants who have feared the opposite for years.
"Invasion of the Mice"
...And of men with agendas and carefully controlled reporting that plays on the emotions to keep people distracted as very seldom are the real stories picked up by journalists. We love hearing from other countries as we so often find that there is not much difference with what happens around the world, --someone has the same finger in all the pots! So, what is happening in New Zealand? The downward economy is happening now, foreclosures in NZ are called forced "Morgagee sales" (where someone bought in auction someone's home) and increasing at an alarming rate, last year was the highest and overall it has increased on average of 500% and this is a small country! Job loss is at 7% and farm sales dropped off dramatically; the now very popular "Lifestyle Blocks"; a story of a farmer loosing his huge land; and China has taken an interest in taking forestry, land, with bigger plans including milk. The Minister of Finance downplays the situation, possible agenda there. The housing industry is falling, work for builders dropping. In Nature News: a mass invasion of mice and its consequences and evidence there and here of Nature preparing for extreme weather changes. Immunization news: parents will be receiving cash incentives to have their children immunized for the children's "safety" of course, otherwise benefits will be held back from the children... so who are they helping? --How about give the kids their benefits and stop bribing parents into giving them the shots! More on health providers, health care, and problems with the water supply. Privatizing the water is in the works, a flexible way to gain power over this precious resource. And Australia's Prime Minister Kevin Rudd's announcement that the county is under permanent threat of terrorist attack. There are small groups starting to come together to stand up and speak up!
"Tsunamis, a Hero, Economy, Mysteries, and Computers"
Diane describes the scene on the beaches of Western and American Samoa during the 8.3 earthquake last month, so close there was no time for warnings, only the physically fit could run fast enough and up rugged cliffs to avoid the tsunami. The story of a heroic 10 year old girl on the beach who saved a lot of people! "A tsunami is not a wave, it's a wall of water that doesn't stop." More 7+ earthquakes and NZ civil defense, new ads appear with disaster scenarios designed to make people think... is it working? NZ's economy looks like USA but on a smaller scale, with a debt if $10.5 billion NZ government needs to borrow $250 million per week. Still, like here, they "wangle" the numbers to make things look better than they are. The usually weak US dollar suddenly goes up as a mysterious someone was buying up the NZ dollar. The effect of business going off-shore, however NZ still has its huge agriculture and can grow food, which unfortunately makes NZ quite a catch and in fact China is now playing a big part in buying up industry there... makes folks a little nervous. As does our reliance on computers, businesses must save paper by not printing orders, etc., so if computers go down they grind to a halt. Worse than that is the bill in the US that will allow the government to shut down the Internet! Interestingly, on a Sunday all computers at Air NZ went down for hours, IBM runs the NZ systems and the backup didn't work, it was chaos, was it also a test run? Imagine all we do on computers, online banking... your money is digital ones and zeros!
"A Hoot from Down Under"
Meet a wonderful friend and long time supporting Warrior with the best story of how she manages to listen to BTO from a remote place in New Zealand with no DSL, and other adventures! She is also BTO's official reporter in and about NZ happenings. A journalist by trade her stories are so good we wanted you to know her too. What it is really like to ride out a very violent earthquake in the N. Island where bolts are popping out of buildings like bullets and a walking refrigerator puts a roast in the oven, plus the devastating fire storms, all gives anyone a reality check that makes one think, am I ready for that? Currently we find how people in NZ are reacting to things such as being Guinea pigs for the 'Little Debit Card', KeeWee card, one that contains ALL your personal information, and what else the gov is doing there. Although NZ is famous for banning all things nuclear including on ships the people are laid back and buying into the big group consciousness that expects things to be done for them (sound familiar?) however so far the NZ folks have said NO to adding Folate (cancer risk?) in bread which has always been in USA bread. She talks about becoming interested in spiritual things, finding Ramtha, a story about focusing on archery, getting thrown a curve and the curious kangaroos. Then interesting geology, not only is NZ now moving closer to Au as Ramtha many years ago said would happen, also about new land coming up, and the Southern Alps could reach the stratosphere?
Tell us what you think!
