Ben Steele, creator of Fragile Machine, with a wonderful group of talented friends who came together and created Aoineko. "Aoineko are all musically and artistically self-taught. Living apart, we spent the better part of a decade honing our skills and now have come together to produce. We do different kinds of work in different places. Some research and art are done in Taiwan, China, and Japan. Musical inspiration is found while travelling all over the world. The largest part of production is done in our base in the middle of the desert."
"The film’s title and its use of machinery is an attempt at visual expression of the idea that physicality is not “alive”, that all life truly resides in a parallel and unending reality. Leda is a fragile machine, yet she is also alive. An analogy could be that if I lost my limbs and they were replaced with prosthetics, would I still be myself? Yes. If I lost nearly my entire body and a large portion of my brain, and all were replaced with artificial versions would I still be myself? Yes. As long as Source was still present as awareness, and there was the capability to experience life, “I” would still exist."
